Optimum and Best Practice Zoom setting for Family Mediation.

Anyone who has worked with me knows that I fully embrace technology and fully immerse myself to understand how certain platforms work and how some of these growing or emerging technologies can be useful for the work that we do.

In the Family Dispute Resolution space it is not good enough to purchase a generic platform and work from it as is without thinking of some of the implications on the work we do. I always look at things from a best practice angle. Some of the simple questions that I ask myself are something to the effect of, “if I was in a room with clients what are some of the things I would consider and what are some of the assurances I make to my client in terms of what they should expect from the process”? Even as a private mediator who might not have an IT team to set up your technology, you have to be proactive and think outside the box in terms of your service delivery. In fact, as a private mediator, there is even more scope to ensure all your client’s needs are met without any bounds.

For those who are unsure how to set up their ZOOM for mediation or group facilitation. This video provides some basic guidelines. The settings can be varied to suit you and what you believe is best for your clients and best practice principles.
